Social media is having an impact where once gyms ruled the day. With millions of followers on their Instagram accounts, online personal trainers have started a fitness industry revolution.

Kayla Itsines, Ashy Bines and Emily Skye are among some of the top social media-based Australian trainers taking the fitness industry by storm.

With what began as online attempts to help motivate women through videos, businesses have grown, and now provide e-books that outline thorough workouts and meal plans for 12 weeks and strong online communities where participants can share progress and access support.

Programs, including Kayla Itsines’s ‘Bikini Body Guide,’ offer time-effective training plans that are easily accessible online.

“My training concept in the Bikini Body Guide is about getting the most out of a limited amount of time,” she said.

“In today’s society most people are time poor so I wanted to help them burn as much fat as fast as possible in as little time as possible without sacrificing quality of training.”

Fitness programs feature fast exercise regimes and capitalise on social media’s capacity to share tips and images of participants’ results.
