Malaysia’s Siti Zilina defeated Scotland’s Julie Forest to claim the Women’s Singles title at Bowls World Cup at the Warilla Bowls and Recreation club today.
Zilina was too strong for her oppostion, and took the championship 11-4, 12-5.
“I love this sport. This sport not like other sports, not aggressive. This sport more to mental (strength) and focusing,” Zilina said.
Senior Vice President of Zone 16 BowlsBob Upton said it was a memorable final.
“It was one of the best we’ve seen in the last eight years and to see the Malaysian girl win this was absolutely fantastic,” he said.
The Bowls World Cup has run over the last week at the Warilla and drew competitors from more than 20 countries.
UPDATE: Ian McLean (Scotland) defeated David Holt (Australia) 9-4, 6-6 in the Men’s Singles Final.
