Voting is a daunting task for voters of all ages, let alone first timers. When it comes to University students specifically there’s one thing that stands out against the rest.
So the question is, do you know what electorate you’re enrolled to vote in? According to the Electoral Commission, the biggest problem Uni students face when attempting to vote is the lack of knowledge of their respective electorates.
“A lot of students don’t enrol in their correct electorate and that ends in them wasting a lot of time and often coming to the polling place more than once” an Electoral Commission spokesperson said.
The problem is students are not aware of what they’re meant to do, thinking that changing their home address on their licence is enough.
“Apart from that, it’s all pretty straightforward” he said.
