The Illawarra will be treated to a weekend of song and dance from Friday the 24th to Sunday the 26th when the Illawarra Music Festival returns to Wollongong.
The festival is an initiative of the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music, and is funded primarily by ArtsNSW.
The 2013 Illawarra Music Festival is set to be a fusion of musical genres including jazz, country and rock; showcasing some of the country’s and the Illawarra’s best acts.
It will feature music from ARIA winning vocal group The Idea of North, ARIA nominated Jazzgroove Mothership Orchestra, one of Australia’s leading chamber ensembles Ensemble Offspring and country music legend and nine-time Golden Guitar winner James Blundell.
Lindsay Snell, marketing coordinator and festival organiser says that the festival will “give the opportunity for local artists to share their music. It will also give artists from other areas to perform in the Illawarra.”
