Wollongong city council are pushing for the approval of the Grand Pacific Walk in 2013.

The proposed project will create a 60km path linking the Royal National park to the Illawarra.

If approved a shared walk and cycleway will connect with existing paths, following the Grand Pacific Drive route between Otford and Windang.

The plans are set to drive a higher number of locals and tourists through the area.

Things will kick off with a Review of Environmental Factors and approvals for the intended upgrade of the Stoney Creek Bridge in Coalcliff in June 2013.
