Mr Lawrence says that age 60 he is thinking about his future and “cannot commit to a full three-year term.”
When asked he said that he isn’t being pushed out of the role, rather he views it as the best decision for the union, himself and his family.
Mr Lawrence is proud of his five years in the role.
“Most importantly of all, I am proud of that we have a strong and united movement dedicated to campaigning for secure jobs and a better future for the working people.”
Currently he has no thought for a role in politics.
